Have each member press their fingerprint into the clay/playdough/powder.
If using playdough or clay, at this point, you can just use the magnifying glass to view the fingerprints.
If using powder, press the finger onto clear packaging tape. Then it can be viewed clearly with a magnifying glass.
Science Behind It
Everyone has a different fingerprint. No two are the same. There are several different patterns that your fingerprint can be, the eight most common being the plain arch, tented arch, ulnar loop, radial loop, double loop, plain whorl, central pocket loop whorl, and accidental whorl. Crime scene investigators will often use fingerprints to solve crimes!
Tips
Oven-bake clay works the best for this experiment, however, you will get the most detail using the powder and packaging tape.
